The Future of Fashion

Ethical ...

Sustainable ...

And

Smart textiles ... remain to be the buzz words in the fashion industry.

Fashion houses, international retailers as well as up and coming designers continue to join the ethical bandwagon, launching international initiatives focusing on these core strategies.

Such initiatives help us all become more aware of the demands we place on fashion, encouraging us to buy less and borrow more, opt for organic and recycled materials, upcycle old clothes, and cold wash or air our clothing and textiles.

H&M is yet another retailer giant to commit to a fashionable and sustainable future and drive customers to a "more circular, fair and equal" fashion industry.

H&M claim by 2030 they will be using 100% recycled or sustainably sourced materials in all of their products.

To make this possible H&M have introduced several initiatives which focus on three key concepts.

~Rewear

Where donated goods (in good condition) are sold as secondhand clothing.

~Reuse

Where old or soiled textiles are turned into other products such as cleaning rags.

~Recycle

Where old textiles are broken down and used for other things or remade into new garments.

Their garment collection initiative encourage you to drop off any unwanted clothing and textiles, and in return you receive a 15% off voucher to use on your next purchase.

You can help make a difference, so let the shopping begin!!
