For Every Head There Is Hat
I’m not really a hat person, despite my daily helmet hair state of life. I often question whether I feel like a kid playing dress ups, or whether hats bring out my insecurities about my rather small, oval head and non existent hair under the tiniest of brims.
Either way, I usually walk away reassessing my life’s choices, instead of thinking about the bazillion sizes, styles and fabrics, I’ve just placed on my head.
Nonetheless, after searching high and low, and driving hours to try on endless new styles, I’ve found a handful I quite like, and even a few brands which go alright and perfectly proportion my small little head.
The Wide Brim Straw Hat is the perfect additional to any holiday look. It’s easy to pair with a neutral attire or flowy maxi skirt and platform slides, and also looks pretty smick over a head scarf (and fills in the extra room around the sweatband).

#Western Wide Palma from @lackofcolorau or
#remyseagrass from @wilandbear
The Boater is a lighter summer piece which can be paired with resort style day wear. Alternatively the boater can be worn with a more structured outfit and taken through to the night.
My pick the #Ricoboater from @lackofcolorau
The Trucker Cap is a must have for any active ladee. It’s a superb pick for everyday wear and provides great sun protection. And it usually has an adjustable band, so you can get the perfect fit from @brixtonwomens
The Non-Wool Beret is uber chic, with or without your utilitarian attire. Worn best with an off-the-shoulder top, bootay shaping high waisted jeans and slim shades.
For those cooler nights opt for #albanycap from @brixtonwomens in Navy velvet or suede.
So now that I’ve shared a few of my favourites, go out and try a few. You never know what style may stick.
