SIMPLE may NOT be the NEW BLACK
Ok sooo Simple may NOT be the new black!! Well it is in my case anywa
I began to explore a new minimalistic approach to style and dressing, a wee while ago and stumbled upon Project 333 (refer to my post on the 1st August 2017).
This fantastic initiative gently nudged me, and those participating, to reexamine our wardrobes and challenged us to dress to impress for 3 months with ONLY 33 items.
To be honest, I lasted a whoooollee week. Yeahhhh. I know. It's crazy, right?? Someone who prides themselves in helping others to establish calm and organised spaces, build functional capsule wardrobes and create lasting impressions by mixing and matching, failed or rather flailed!!
Don't get me wrong. The entire process was straight forward and easy to follow. I was able to mix and match the 33 pieces I had chosen to use; I reigned in my crazy and overly zealous buying habits and I really do believe it simplified my mornings and dressing practices.
I truly do take my hat of to those challenging themselves to start this and for those continuing to reinvent their capsule wardrobe day after day.
However, I loooove telling a story with the clothing I wear, hand picking the accessories I add to my outfit and taking my time to construct a look from head to toe! Adding layers and dimensions to each and every outfit, allows me to escape reality for just a moment. And to challenge myself not to experience that minuscule moment, is just not worth it to me.
Soooo be open to the endless possibilities, try new things, and be true to yourself and your purpose!!
